By Michael Carlucci Published: 2026-01-12 Help Center Guide

What is the Lesson Wizard?

The Lesson Wizard is a step-by-step guide that helps you create complete lesson packages. After generating your lesson plan, the wizard walks you through creating all supporting materials: exercises, quizzes, rubrics, exit tickets, differentiation strategies, homework, and discussion questions.

Getting Started with the Wizard

Step 1: Generate Your Lesson Plan

Start by creating a lesson plan using the Lesson Planner. Once generated, you'll automatically enter the Lesson Wizard.

Step 2: Review Your Lesson Plan

The first step shows your complete lesson plan. Review it to ensure it meets your needs. You'll see:

  • Success message confirming generation
  • Full lesson plan with objectives, stages, resources, and glossary
  • Options to continue to exercises or skip the wizard

Navigating Through the Wizard

The wizard includes 8 steps:

  1. Lesson Plan: Review your generated lesson
  2. Exercises: Generate practice activities
  3. Quiz: Create assessment questions
  4. Rubric: Generate grading criteria
  5. Exit Ticket: Create quick assessments
  6. Differentiation: Generate strategies for diverse learners
  7. Homework: Create reinforcing assignments
  8. Discussion: Generate engaging questions

Using the Progress Bar

The wizard features a visual progress bar that shows:

  • Your completion percentage (e.g., "25% Complete")
  • All 8 steps with visual indicators
  • Completed steps marked with checkmarks
  • Current step highlighted in orange

Generating Content

For each step:

  1. Click "Generate [Component]" to create content
  2. Wait for the loading indicator (spinner) to complete
  3. Review the generated content
  4. Continue to the next step or skip if not needed

Skipping Steps

You can skip any step you don't need:

  • Click "Skip" to move to the next step
  • Skipped steps are marked as completed in the progress bar
  • You can always generate skipped components later

Completing the Wizard

When you finish the last step (Discussion), you'll see:

  • A completion page with all generated content
  • Tabs to review each component
  • Options to view the full lesson or create another

Accessing Your Complete Package

All wizard-generated content is saved together. You can:

  • View everything in the lesson view page
  • Access individual components from tabs
  • Export the complete package to Word (DOCX)
  • Use the package as a template for future lessons

Tips for Success

  • Use the progress bar to track your completion
  • Review each generated component before moving forward
  • Skip steps you'll create manually
  • Take advantage of the visual feedback (loading indicators, success messages)

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues:

  • Refresh the page if content doesn't generate
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try skipping and returning to a step later
  • Contact support if problems persist
